The Book of Mormon in Hebrew

The complete Book of Mormon is available in Hebrew — the full record, free to read online, with the Hebrew and English presented together verse by verse. Whether you are reading it in Hebrew for the first time or comparing it line by line with the English, the entire text is open to you here.

The Full Record in Hebrew

Every book of the Book of Mormon has been translated and is ready to read — from 1 Nephi through Moroni, nothing abridged and nothing gated. The text is rendered in Biblical Hebrew, the language of the Torah and the prophets, so that it reads to a Hebrew reader the way scripture is meant to read.

The record itself spans roughly a thousand years of history across its fifteen books, compiled and abridged by the prophet-historian Mormon from earlier records in his people's possession, with a final section added by his son Moroni. It opens with Lehi's family leaving Jerusalem around 600 BC and closes with Moroni's final words, written alone after the destruction of his people around 421 AD. An earlier civilization, the Jaredites, is covered separately in the book of Ether, drawn from a record far older than Lehi's, dating to the time of the Tower of Babel as the text describes it.

A Sample Passage

Here is the opening verse of the record, in Hebrew and English, to show how the text reads:

1 Nephi 1:1 — א נְפִי א:א

אֲנִי, נֶפִי, נוֹלַדְתִּי לְהוֹרִים נִכְבָּדִים…

“I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days…”

Every chapter follows this pattern — Hebrew and English together, verse by verse.

How the Hebrew Edition Works

The reader is built for both study and devotion. Read the Hebrew on its own, or keep the English alongside for comparison — either way you move through each book chapter by chapter. Where audio readings are available, you can listen while you follow the text. Nothing requires an account, and the full record is free.
